FAQs
What will my scholarship provide me?
Your tuition cost to attend the training will be 100% covered
- At the start of the first day of in-person training, you’ll receive one set of each of the following hardware, depending on the training track you are in:
- Elementary: Blue-Bot®, BBC micro:bit, and Drone Maker Kit
- Middle School: Seeker™️, Arduino Plug & Make, Echo Drone
- Upon successful completion of the entire training sequence (3 in-person days, 3 virtual ½ days), you’ll receive a Pitsco Education voucher to use towards a classroom implementation.
- Upon successful completion of the entire training sequence, you will receive a $500 honorarium. This can be used for ancillary costs to participate in the training, such as fuel, food, lodging, or other.
Will I receive the scholarship benefits if I don’t complete the entire training sequence?
- If you attend the three in-person days of training, you will receive the aforementioned hardware for your training sequence to practice with. You will not receive the additional voucher for a full classroom set if you do not complete the training in its entirety.
- If you do not attend the entire training sequence, you will not qualify to receive the $500-value stipend.
Will continuing professional education hours (CPEs) be provided in conjunction with my training sequence?
- Yes, after a fashion; Pitsco will offer formal certificates of completion at the end of each training sequence, formally verifying the hours each learner has spent in training. For each sequence, 28 hours are available.
I intend to complete/attend the entire training sequence; but what if something comes up and I have to miss a day of the in-person training, or a ½ day of the virtual training?
- Pitsco reserves the right to allow an educator to make up the virtual ½ days training sessions on a case-by-case basis, leveraging training recordings and review of participation vetting process.
- In-person work cannot be made up.
What if I really like what I’ve learned and would like to consider bringing the hardware/curriculum I’ve been trained on to my classroom or broader educational environment?
- To discuss bringing the curriculum or solutions your trained on more broadly to your school, district, or education environment, please chat with you regional Pitsco Education Advisor.
