
2026 TEXAS TEACHER SUMMER SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HANDS-ON COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ROBOTICS WORKSHOPS
Pitsco Education and WeTeach_CS (UT-TACC) are pleased to offer (20) scholarships for current Texas elementary teachers/administrators and (20) scholarships for current Texas middle school teachers/administrators. These scholarships will provide hands-on activites with engaging curriculum in computer science, robotics, and drones that can be incorporated into your current classrooms and programs. The 2026 summer workshops will be hosted by Texas Region 4 ESC and Region 10 ESC.
*Applicants MUST agree to attend ALL in-person and virtual sessions (28 total hours) to be considered for the scholarship. The scholarship will include the hardware used in each workshop, vouchers for additional classroom hardware, a stipend, and CEUs.*

Bridging Computer Science Pedagogy with Robotics in the Elementary Classroom
Who: Elementary - Grades K-5 Teachers
Format: Hybrid: 3 days in-person (June 16-18, 9AM-3PM CST), 3 days virtual (July 20-22, 8AM-12PM CST)
Location: Gerald D. Young Agricultural Science Center, Gary A. Vos Project Center, 5801 Katy Hockley Cut Off Road. Katy, TX 77493
Curriculum/Hardware feature: LUMA, Blue-Bot, micro:bit, Drone Maker Kit
This comprehensive training program is designed to provide elementary educators with a deep understanding of computer science (CS) pedagogy and demonstrate how LUMA, Blue-Bot, micro:bit, and Drone Maker Kit can be used to apply these principles in the classroom. The workshop will focus on why teaching CS, technology, and physical computing is essential, as well as how to integrate hands-on activities in a cross-curricular way to build foundational skills in computational thinking and coding.
Bridging Computer Science Pedagogy and Emerging Technologies in the Middle School Classroom
Who: Middle School - Grades 6-8 Teachers
Format: Hybrid: 3 days in-person (June 9-11, 9AM-3PM CST), 3 days virtual (July 20-22, 1PM-5PM CST)
Location: Linda Samples Technology Center, 2600 Motley Drive, Mesquite, TX 75150
Curriculum/Hardware feature: Seeker, Arduino Plug & Make, Echo Drone
This comprehensive training program is designed to provide middle school educators with a deep understanding of computer science (CS) pedagogy and demonstrate how Seeker, Arduino Plug and Make Kit, and Echo Drone can be used to apply these principles in the classroom. The workshop will focus on why teaching CS, technology, robotics, and physical computing is essential, as well as how to integrate hands-on activities in a cross-curricular way to build foundational skills in computational thinking and coding.
For those who complete the entirety of one of these workshop series (28 total hours), CEU's will be available!
Scholarships to cover the cost of hardware, materials, a stipend, and a portion of travel are available in limited quantity. To apply for a scholarship, please fill out the application on this page.
